At Wild Throw Co., sustainability goes beyond the materials we use; it’s about protecting the natural systems that make our planet thrive. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor Fulung, a sun bear at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC).

Fulung means forest in the local Lundayeh language of tribal Sabah. Fulung was kept as a house pet but was surrendered to the Sabah Wildlife Department and subsequently brought to BSBCS in 2011. Fulung, who turns 16 soon, is one of the oldest Sun Bears living at the centre.

Sun Bears play a vital role in forest ecosystems. As natural seed dispersers, they help maintain healthy, diverse rainforests, which are essential for biodiversity and long-term environmental sustainability. However, sun bears are increasingly threatened by deforestation, habitat loss and illegal wildlife trade.

Our sponsorship supports the vital work carried out by the BSBCC, including the rescue, rehabilitation and long-term care of Sun Bears like Fulung, as well as education and conservation efforts aimed at protecting their future in the wild.
